iPad The Quest for Excellence working
Apple's recent announcement of the iPad was easily anticipated tech news of the year. The iPads bigger sized screen presents web pages in the way you would expect to see them on your home computer, laptop-rich vibrant and with few compromises. This makes the web user experience a pleasure. It is another unique point to the iPad. Information and web pages could not be clearer.

The Magazine Re-imagined
iPad is a breakthrough platform for magazines, allowing publishers to do more than they ever could before. See how one company is changing the way you interact, experience magazine content with the new Popular Science+ app. It is the first example of a new concept they call Mag+ that takes full advantage of Multi-Touch technology on the iPad. Reading is a joy on iPad. Text looks crisp, bright. Pages turn with a flick. We can buy new books from the iBookstore.

The Weather Channel
Following the weather is even more fascinating on iPad. The large display, crisp video make storm footage riveting. We will see in-motion radar with past and future views. We can watch local, regional, national weather forecast videos. Customize all-size weather maps.

Maps
Finding your way is a completely nice experience on iPad. Tap to view locations from above with high-resolution satellite imagery, up close by street view, by topography with a new terrain view, in map view - all using Google services. Drag your finger up to lift the corner of the map, you can switch between views. iPad with Wi-Fi finds your location using known Wi-Fi hotspots,  Wi-Fi + 3G models use Wi-Fi, GPS, and cellular towers. So you can get routes, get directions, get there in no time.

Photos
Tap, pinch, flick through your photos. With the built-in Photos app on iPad, you can see, touch your photos in intuitive new ways. Your photo albums appear as tidy little stacks you can pinch to preview. Tap a stack, the whole album opens up. From there we can scroll through thumbnails. Tap to view total screen. Flip through photos one at a time.

Contacts
More than just names, numbers. With iPad, we can do more with your contacts than ever before. Put a photo to a name, so you can find anyone at a glance. Add an email address, you can send a message with a tap. Add birthdays, anniversaries, important notes to any contact. You can even set a reminder that is saved to your calendar.

iPod
The big, beautiful iPad display lets you browse your music collection by song, artist, album, genre, composer by the touch of a finger. See your music as all-size album art. Flip through all your albums, tap to choose what you want to hear. It is as natural as flipping through CDs.

Movies
Say you are on an airplane. Pull out your iPad, prop it on your tray table using the optional iPad Case, fill your flight with movies. You can watch up to 10 hours of video on iPad, so the longest flight will really fly by. Reason the iPad display uses IPS technology, it has an amazingly wide 178° viewing angle. We can see the display clearly even off to the side. IPS and the powerful built-in speaker also make iPad realy perfect for watching with a friend.

Screen and Input
The iPad's touch screen display is a 25 cm (9.7 in) liquid crystal display (1024 x 768 pixels) with fingerprint-resistant, scratch-resistant glass. The iPhone, the iPad is designed to be controlled by bare fingers; normal gloves, styli that prevent electrical conductivity may not be used,30 though there are special gloves and styli designed for this use.

The display responds to two other sensors: an ambient light sensor to adjust screen brightness and a 3-axis accelerometer to sense iPad orientation, switch between portrait ,landscape modes. Unlike the iPhone and iPod touch built-in applications, which work in three orientations, the iPad built-in applications support screen rotation in all 4 orientations, meaning that the device has no intrinsic native orientation; only the position of the home button changes.
iPad has a switch to lock out this screen rotation function. There are a total of four physical switches, including a home button below the display that returns the user to the main menu, three plastic physical switches on the sides: wake/sleep, volume up/down, along with the screen rotation lock
